A Faculty Exhibition Featuring Works from Crealdé School of Art’s Painting & Drawing Faculty
This August, the Friends of Casa Feliz is proud to host a vibrant new art exhibit: Crealdé x Casa Feliz: In Good Company - A Faculty Exhibition, showcasing the works of the painting and drawing faculty from the renowned Crealdé School of Art.
This exciting collaboration between two of Winter Park’s leading arts institutions celebrates the rich artistic talent that thrives within our community. Visitors will enjoy a diverse array of works in watercolor, oil, and other media—all set within the historic ambiance of Casa Feliz.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Watercolor Workshop with Julie Nieves
Saturday, August 9 | 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Learn to paint watercolors from master artist and faculty member Julie Nieves. This workshop is geared toward beginners, and those with limited watercolor experience—come learn from one of our area’s most experienced, and patient, instructors! Workshop includes Jeff’s Bagels, coffee, and mimosas! Each student will go home with their own beautiful rendering of the below floral watercolor.
$45 per person | Limited to 18 students
About the instructor: Julie Nieves’ paintings are inspired by the flora and fauna of the natural world, and she loves painting the vibrant colors of Florida’s namesake flowers. She has studied watercolor painting locally at Crealdé School of Art, with local artist Katie Holt, and numerous workshops with professional artists. Along with teaching both children and adults at Crealdé, she is also the Painting and Drawing Program Manager. She is a member of the Central Florida Watercolor Society where she has served as Vice President and President. Her work has been included in juried shows at City Arts, the Orlando Science Center, the Center for Health and Wellbeing, Studio Art Farm, and the Mount Dora Center for the Arts. She is enthusiastic about sharing the joys of watercolor painting with the community and her students.

Robert Ross, oil painting on location
Thursday, August 14 | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.About Robert Ross: After a career in university public relations, Robert Ross turned to painting landscapes, still-life, and interiors inspired by his travels and daily walks in Winter Park. His award-winning work has been exhibited widely, featured on the cover of Winter Park Magazine, and is represented by galleries in New Smyrna Beach and St. Petersburg.
Beth Pendleton, oil painting demonstration
Saturday, August 23 | 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.About Beth Pendleton: Beth is inspired by American impressionists, and endeavors to capture the beauty of our Florida waterways and wildlife using traditional oil paint and methods. She is currently a member of B Squared Art Studio in Altamonte Springs, and teaches fundamental classes in oil painting, color theory, and composition at the Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park.
